Popular Kenyan comedian, Meshack Kiprop Biwott commonly known as Arap Uria has been handed a rewarding deal with the world football governing body, Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).
This comes days after the ‘Kenyan Peter Drury’ kicked off his career of mimicking the legendary English commentator.
Uria, who is currently in Ghana shooting a FIFA World Cup project, broke the news on his social media accounts, thanking God for the opportunity.
“Landed in Ghana for a FIFA World Cup project. Thanks be to God,” read his Facebook post.
On Tuesday August 2, he shared several pictures updating his fans on the progress of the project.
The photographs showed the behind the scenes activities of the project he is involved in.
Little is known of the upcoming ‘Kenyan Peter Drury’ but through his tweets of emulating the unique voice of the EPL commentator, he has undoubtedly caught the attention of many.
Arap Uria hit the headlines when Jim Beglin, an Irish former professional footballer and current co-commentator for RTÉ, CBS Sports, BT Sport, and Premier League Productions replied to the Kenyan comedian now known as the ‘Kenyan Peter Drury’.

The comedian recorded a commentary of the famous 2018 Champions League encounter between AS Roma and Barcelona posting it to an excited fan base, reawakening the words of Drury on that historic night in Rome.
Jim was amazed with the creativity of the upcoming comedian and quickly replied showing love and admiration for the talent possessed by the Kenyan comedian.
His narration of the Champions League victory over Barcelona in April earned widespread acclaim, with clips circulating on social media for days after the quarter-final second leg.
“Roma have risen from their ruins! Manolas, the Greek God in Rome! The unthinkable unfolds before our eyes. This was not meant to happen; this could not happen… this is happening!” Peter Drury, English Commentator during the AS Roma vs Barcelona Champions League match, 2018.
Peter Drury is a football commentator, formerly with ITV Sport as their number two football commentator, a role he had held from 1998 to 2013.
The highly articulate Drury has an ability of summoning the right words at the right time, consistently keeping his composure to deliver lines which are both elaborate and accessible – something that arguably sets him apart from many other football commentators globally.
The 54-year-old was recently poached by the United States based NBC Sport, thus his East African fans would no longer access his English Premier League commentary unless from online archives
