Kenyan coffee chain Java House is facing a credibility crisis and possible law suit after a customer found rotting butterfly in a seemingly lip-smacking Chicken Pie.
The management downplayed the matter fearing to cause a scene in a fully packed outlet along Kimathi Street.
This unfortunate situation is likely to take a huge toll on Java in service roles over the horrible incident. The disgruntled customer has threatened to sue in case likely to sink Java’s flourishing brand.
The complainant says he was unable to eat for days because of the ‘undue mental anguish’ and ’emotional distress’ caused by the incident.
Tempers seem to have flared after the management failed to convincingly explain after he complained. Kevin Ashley founded Java’s first outlet in Nairobi in 1999 and has been eying African market.
