Former Devolution cabinet secretary Anne Waiguru has alleged that MPs in the parliamentary accounts committee had demanded Sh10 million to drop her National Youth Service probe.
She sensationally claimed that some “rogue” legislators wanted monetary inducement for them to ink a favourable report exonerating her from any wrong doing in the NYS scam.
“I told them I do not have it, so write what you want…that is why when you read the body of their report and the conclusion it does not make sense,” she said.
Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV on Wednesday, Waiguru termed witch-hunt the ongoing investigations into the role she played in the NYS heist.
She said contrary to media reports, she has not moved to court to block the Ethics and Anti—Corruption Commission from conducting a lifestyle audit on her.
Waiguru, who is contesting the Kirinyaga governor seat said both Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and National Intelligence Service(NIS), Directorate of criminal Investigations (DCI) have already investigated and cleared her of any wrong doing.
