Hundreds of disabled people from Nyaribari Chache sub county in Kisii county have received a major boost from the ministry of gender and special programs as they received chair wheels and other gadgets to easy their mobility.
Speaking in Nyaturago green stadium, the permanent secretary for special program Susan Mochache said that the government of Kenya is committed to serve the people leaving with disability better.
Mochache said that the government is now giving 350 million shillings to them every year and those leaving with albinism getting 100 million yearly for lotions to protect them from scotching son that can cause cancer. Mochache said that the disabled people will be seating for a different examinations since they can not compete with their body enabled colleagues.
Local political activist Steve Arika thanked the government for the gesture of helping the less fortunate in the society saying they will also be able to get to town and other places without assistance.
