Embu Senator Lenny Kivuti has come out to defend himself from accusations that he is supporting Jubilee Party candidates in Embu county.
This comes after a section of Ngome council of elders from Mbeere South together with MCC candidates led by Mbeere south
parliamentary Genasio Mugo pressured Kivuti to state his stand on whom he is supporting for the Mbeere South MP seat.
Kivuti on Thursday had joined JP candidate for Mbeere South Col Geoffrey King’ang’i to celebrate after the high court ordered
Jubilee Party to give him his nomination certificate which was earlier given to his closest rival Kamau Nyutu.
His move to show support for King’ang’i who is the former President Kibaki Aide de camp has angered elders and MCC candidates forcing him to call for an urgent meeting in Embu town to clear the air and resolve the matter.
King’ang’i belongs to the same clan with Kivuti and Mugo comes from the other clan and the move by the Kivuti is seen as a political tactic to
reach out to all people from both clans as he faces incumbent Governor Martin Wambora who belongs to JP and PNU candidate Kithinji Kiragu.
