Mathare Jubilee aspirant, Kevin Kioko alias Bahati has denied reports that he has resigned.
On his Facebook account, the mama hitmaker claimed that some Azimio La Umoja members have been spreading false information about his candidacy among his supporters confusing them.
“Dear Azimio… stop misleading the voters of Mathare. Bahati – MP Mathare has not stepped down for anyone,” Bahati said.
Following reports that Azimio had selected Anthony Oluoch as its favoured candidate during a combined meeting of ODM and Jubilee delegates, Bahati made his comments.
As members of Azimio, Jubilee and ODM have made boardroom agreements to support the single candidate against their Kenya Kwanza rivals in various regions.
Earlier on, the singer cried foul after Jubilee Party asked him to step down for an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) candidate in the Mathare parliamentary race.
In a video that circulated online, Bahati was seen begging President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga to allow him contest in the race.
“I wish to appeal to my President Uhuru Kenyatta and Baba Raila Odinga, please give a youth a chance to contest.
