Tujibebe Party leader and Kiambu governor candidate William Kabogo follows through on his promise to leave the Kenya Kwanza Alliance to join Raila Odinga’s-led Azimio One Kenya Coalition.
Kabogo urged supporters of Odinga to vote for him. This came after he cried foul over the KKA leadership.
“I urge you, supporters of Raila Odinga as you vote for him vote for governor Kabogo also (Na mimi naomba wafuasi wa Raila Odinga mkimpigia Raila mpigie pia Governor Kabogo)” he said.
Earlier, Kabogo had mentioned a visit to Dubai with the DP during which he said they talked about how KKA presidential candidate William Ruto would empower Kenyans if elected.
“We discussed a few things, I told him I wasn’t looking for any position but we discussed that his government ensures that resources are distributed equitably especially in Mt. Kenya region through the one-man-one-shilling revenue sharing formula,” he said while addressing Thika residents early last month.
The former county chief said the expanded Executive proposal that seeks to introduce the Prime Cabinet Secretary position was not part of his agreement with Ruto.
“I never saw that being factored in the agreement deposited with the Registrar of Political Parties,” he said.
Kenya Kwanza presidential running mate Rigathi Gachagua criticised the leader of the Tujibebe Wakenya party for claims of favouring UDA candidates at Kenya Kwanza rallies and excluding those from other comparatively smaller affiliate parties.
“I can only advise my friend Kabogo to take his battles where they belong. I have no favourite candidate in Kiambu. I have no influence there as far as the governor’s seat is concerned. I am busy with the presidential campaigns,” said Gachagua.
