The National Commercial Bank of Africa (NCBA) Group Managing Director John Gachora has been re-elected as chairperson of the Kenya Bankers Association (KBA) for the coming year.
The association also retained Rebecca Mbithi, who will serve as vice-chair of the bankers’ lobby from 2022 to 2023.
The duo were retained during the KBA’s Annual General Meeting held on Thursday, which also included a vote on re-establishing the lobby’s governing council.
The council is a representation of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KCB Group, Absa Bank, CitiBank, the Middle East Bank, medium, and small banks.
All of the governing council members are female CEOs, including Credit Bank’s Betty Korir, DTB’s Nasim Devji, and Family Bank’s Rebecca Mbithi.
