A propaganda machinery of past gun drama involving Purity Wangui Ngirichi, the Jubilee Party nominee for Kirinyaga Women Representative is in the offing and could turn political dynamics for her quest and diminish her seemingly flourishing political career.
Wangui was in 2011 arraigned in an Embu court for mishandling her loaded automatic pistol while being drunk in a bar at Embu Town.
Wangui was charged that on the night of June 4, 2011 at Kenol Night Club in Embu town, she was found being in possession of a semi-automatic pistol Parjo Taurus loaded with 12 bullets while drunk and behaving in a disorderly manner.
When she appeared before Embu chief magistrate Margaret Wachira, she denied the offense. The magistrate released her on Sh30,000 bond.
Wangui, a wealthy businesswoman who ran a flashy campaign complete with helicopters and conspicuous branding trumped the incumbent Winnie Karimi by garnering 67,032. Ms Karimi got 10,928.
