Azimio la Umoja Presidential flagbearer Raila Odinga has promised to advance the nation’s economy if elected the next president.
Speaking to Butula sub-county residents in Busia, he said that him being an engineer, he will advance the country to another level if elected.
“We want to uplift the country’s economy. Every baby who is born to this country will get an opportunity equal education from pre-school to university, (Tunataka kuleta ukombozi kwa uchumi wa Kenya ili tuinue wakenya. Kila mtoto anayezaliwa katika taifa letu, atapata fursa sawa ya elimu kuanzia nursery mpaka university),” he said.
He also called on Kenyans to remain cautious ahead of the August 9 polls.
Raila said some leaders campaigning as presidential candidates on claims they will bring the much-needed change in the country do not understand the history of Kenya.
The Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate is expected to address four rallies at the border county.
He landed in the Butula sub-county at noon.
is accompanied by among other leaders are governors Wycliffe Oparanya (Kakamega), Wilberforce Ottichillo of Vihiga, Anyang Nyon’go of Kisumu and Busia’s Sospeter Ojaamong.
Others are MPs Junet Mohamed (Suna East), Joseph Oyula (Butula), John Mbadi (Suba South), Geoffrey Odanga (Matayos), and Wilberforce Mudenyo (Funyula) and Geoffrey Osotsi (nominated).
Former cabinet minister Dr Mukhisa Kituyi, former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth, and Cotu secretary general Francis Atwoli are also in the former Prime Minister’s entourage.
Others are Busia ODM governor aspirant Paul Otuoma and senatorial contender Okiya Omtatah.
