Amani National Congress Leader Musalia Mudavadi has slammed the Azimio la Umoja after Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua was announced as the coalition’s presidential running mate.
Mudavadi chastised the decision noting that President Uhuru Kenyatta was absent from the event.
On his Twitter handle, the ANC boss stated that the coalition is on its death’s doorstep, citing Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s decision to leave.
“The Azimio remote-controlled Presidential candidate unveils his Running mate and Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka bolts out as President Uhuru goes underground! A house built on sinking sand crumbles! Azimio in a nutshell,” he said.
The nomination of Karua put an end to the speculation and worry over who Raila might name as his deputy.
Musyoka announced he will run for president in the August 9 elections after the party severed relations with Raila Odinga’s Azimio coalition over deception.
Musyoka named Andrew Sunkuli as his Deputy President designate to beat the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission’s (IEBC) deadline for nominating running mates.
He made the announcement at Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka Command Centre (SKM) where he had initially threatened to make the big announcement with speculations that he would be severing ties with Odinga being rife.
He stated his decision following meetings with top officials at his party’s command centre today.
“If OKA has not been messed up, I would have convinced my brother Gideon Moi as my running mate,” he noted.
He claims that his manifesto will be out soon because “this nation needs an alternative.”
