National Super Alliance ( Nasa) Principals have warned the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission against partnering with mobile phone companies to give different numbers to transmit results during the August 8 general Polls without involving all parties.
The principals- Nasa presidential flag bearer, Raila odinga, Deputy, Kalonzoh Musyoka, Moses Wetang’ula, Isaac Ruto and Musalia Mudavadi said claimed the Commission has partnered Communication Authority of Kenya ( CAK ) to use Airtel , Orange and Safari com companies’ numbers to transmit results without the knowledge of Nasa leaders.
Speaking during a rally at Gusii stadium yesterday, Mudavadi said the Authority has divided the country into three zones and allocated each zone to the mobile companies to transmit the results during the polls.
He told IEBC to make the agreement public so that the Nasa leaders would know the numbers being used to transmit the results to enable their agents transmit the same to their tallying centre.
“ We want to know the lines which will be used to transmit the results as some could be used to transmit fakes results and confuse Kenyans” he noted.
He challenged the mobile phone companies not be used by some leaders to rob Kenyans of their political will, stressing each line to be used should be know by all political parties.
Raila reiterated that the presidential results announced at the constituency tallying centres were final as per the law, adding Nasa would also tally its results to be compared with Jubilee’s to avoid rigging.
The flag bearer told the youths stay at the polling stations, guard the votes and rush to homes to assist other voters vote for Nasa to win many elective seats, adding they will not allow compromised election and cry to people over rigging as was the case in 2013.
He said the Alliance has more than 10 million votes across the country and urged Kenyans to turn up in large numbers and vote for it, send Jubilee leaders home and form the government.
The leaders revisited the importation of maize by Jubilee government from Mexico to ease the shortage, claiming the maize had been “stolen from Kenya taken to Indian Ocean and returned”.
They alleged the Mexican government had disowned the maize and accused the government of failing to pay maize farmers better prices, only to import maize to support foreign farmers.
The former Prime minister said during the coalition government with retired president Mwai Kibaki, they paid farmers Sh3,200 per sack but when president Uhuru Kenyatta and Ruto took over, it was reduced to Sh2000, hurting farmers.
The leaders- Governor James Ongwae, Kisii Okoth Obado, Migori, Gladys wanga, women rep Migori, Senator Moses Kajwang, homa bay, Senator James Orengo, Siaya, Alice Chae women Rep Nyamira , Deputy governor, Joash Maangi, Kisii county ODM senator candidate prof. Sam ongeri and Mps- , Richard Onyonka, Kitutu Chache South, Timothy Bosire, Kitutu masaba, Simba arati, Dagorretti North and Manson Oyongo, South Mugirango said nasa will win the presidency.
Wetangula said the government had sought Sh370 billion from Chinese government to construct a standard gauge railway from Nairobi to Malava, about 500 kilometres, claiming the cost has been exaggerated by Sh220 billion.
He warned Chinese contractors against engaging in shade deals, stressing Nasa would review their contracts, value and benefit once it forms the government.
Kalonzo lauded members of Kisii community for voting for them in 2013 and challenged the government to compensate the internally displaced persons who were uprooted from their homes during the infamous 2007 / 8 post election violence.
He said Kisii county is nolonger jubilee zone and would not provide a swing vote and challenged Nasa allied governors to campaign peacefully and deliver votes to propel Raila and him to State House.
The former Vice president said nasa government would provide free tuition from standard one to form four, claiming public funds embezzled are adequate to educate the children.
