Jubilee Party honchos in Pangani are furious with party’s Director of Elections Kanini Kega and have demanded full explanation from his office over claims of manipulation of party primaries in favour of an alleged lover to a moneyed governor.
The alleged lover is said to be a powerful and permanent figure in the running affairs of the devolved government riddled with multiple corruption claims and at times directing County Ministers and Chief Officers on key administrative matters.
Insiders contend that the claims could be counterproductive to the party as they strategise to make inroads and May end up with weak candidates at the ballot in August polls.
Sources from within the President Uhuru Kenyatta’s led party intimated similar claims have been brought to the fore and are likely to damage party’s attempt to reinvent itself particularly in the larger Mount Kenya region.
