Father, mother, and son are in police custody after they beat a 39-year-old man to death after a disagreement over lost money at Arorwet village in Nakuru County.
Stanley Sing’oei is said to have visited the local joint on Monday afternoon to grab a drink with the brewer, whom authorities identified as Sheila Lang’at.
“He was barely done with the second bottle when he noticed that Sh23,500, which he had earlier put in one of his pockets, was missing. Since they were only the two of them, he turned to the ‘Mama Pima’ and asked her whether she had taken the money,” said the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
The two reportedly got into a quarrel, where the woman got help of her husband and their 17-year-old son which together they hacked Sing’oei on the head to death using a machete.
Police have since arrested the three and taken them into custody pending arraignment.
