National Assembly deputy speaker Joyce Laboso is facing a tricky balancing act in choosing her running mate ahead of the August 8 General Election as she prepares to face Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto in the battle for the governor’s seat.
Laboso secured the Jubilee ticket after beating her closest rival National Water Conservation and Pipeline Corporation chairman Julius Kones in the nominations.
The Jubilee nominee wants to ensure that her choice is seen to held achieve a distribution of positions in the five constituencies in the county, namely Bomet Central, Chepalungu, Sotik, Bomet East and Konoin.
Laboso who comes from Sotik (where she represents as MP) already has in her line up Senate aspirant Christopher Lang’at from Chepalungu and woman representative Joyce Korir from Bomet Central.
That means the remaining constituencies, Konoin and Bomet Central are hoping Laboso will pick her running mate from the area.
