The leadership of Nomiya Church Kenya has threatened to excommunicate its members who were in the group of ‘imposters’ who visited State house last week purporting to represent the church.
Last week, a delegation of people who masquerading as members of the Nomiya Church visited State house to allegedly endorse President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election bid.
The church has, however, since disowned the group saying they were not its genuine members.
Speaking during a church service in Bondo town, the assistant archbishop of Nomiya Church Rev Jared Gondi revealed that they will hold a Synod conference to take action against their members who connived with the imposters to go to State house without the consent of the church leadership.
He disclosed that as a leadership of the Nomiya Church, they will be forced to excommunicate such errant members so that they can go to other churches where they can practice such kind of misconduct.
The ‘imposters’ allegedly promised that Nomiya Church will support President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election bid owing to his Jubilee government’s development track record, but the assistant Archbishop says the church would not be party to such “empty promises”.
Rev Gondi said as a church, they would wish to see the Nasa flag bearer Raila Odinga emerging winner in the 2017 general election but not President Uhuru Kenyatta as was promised by the imposters.
He said there is no way they can endorse the re-election bid of the Jubilee leadership when their own son, Raila, is also in the presidential contest.
The delegation was led by one Eng Caleb Olali, who according to Archbishop Moses Okech does not hold any position in the church.
