Controversial businessman-cum-politician Stanley Livondo has today recorded statement at the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) headquarters over remarks he made of alleged flopped twin assassination plot against President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Livondo was summoned and ordered to avail himself at the Mazingira House to provide information to the investigators.

Through a letter, the detective investigating the case asked Livondo to avail himself at the Kiambu Road-based offices to provide information to the investigators.

“(The police) hereby compels Stanley Livondo to appear at the DCI headquarters situated along Kiambu road at Mazingira House on Monday, February 21, at 2:00 pm without fail,” read part of the DCI statement.

DCI warned that failure to comply with the requisition constitutes an offence liable to prosecution.

His summoning comes a day after Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria called on the DCI boss George Kinoti to detain the businessman over his remarks.

“As the convener of the thanksgiving prayer meeting in Thika, I may not be responsible for what speakers said but it was my meeting and I have to take responsibility. I have today requested Kinoti to arrest Stanley Livondo following his reckless statement,” said Kuria.

The former Langata parliamentary aspirant alleged that some top officials had plotted to kill Kenyatta on two different occasions years back.

“You have a friend, who attempted to crash your plane twice, will you forgive him? The first attempt was when President Uhuru Kenyatta was leaving Kisumu and the second attempt was when he was going to the US through Dubai and he had to make a detour,” Livondo said.

In the first assassination attempt, he stated the president was traveling from Kisumu to Nairobi, while in the second, he claimed he was flying to the United States through Dubai.

“If your friend, who is so close to you like a brother, attempts to crash a plane that you are on board more than twice, will you forgive him? Kenyans are just confused, they are just waiting for Uhuru to disclose why he broke ranks with the politician (Kama wewe ukona rafiki yako nayeye anataka, kukueka chini akuangushe na ndege, mara mbili, utamsamehe?)” said Livondo.
