Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho has announced a major reshuffle of 132 Deputy County Commissioners (DCC).
The changes come as major political developments ahead of the August General Elections.
Kibicho announced the changes in a memo to Regional Commissioners on February 11 and directed that they be implemented immediately.
Khalif Abdulahi was transferred to Nakuru West, Fred Sungu to Kiminini, Michael Yator to Changamwe, Meshak Mwangi to Eldas, Alinoor Duba to Bungoma Central, Felix Wafula to Ugunja, Daniel Mwendwa to Lamu East, Hussein Alason to Kisumu Central and Victor Kamonde to Kisumu Central (Bomet Central).
Solomon Kiptoo was transferred to Soy, Philip Koima to Endebes, John Maina to Gihurai, Jeremiah Tumo to Pokot Central, James Koskey to Harambee House, and Reuben Kipkech to Msambweni.
The officials play an important role in the administration of government affairs in the regions, counties and sub counties.
In the old and defunct constitution, DCCs were similar to District Commissioners.
