The rift between Wiper party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka and chairman, David Musila widened today following the outcome of Kitui County primaries which favoured the incumbent, Julius Malombe.
Musila, who has since declared he will be running as independent candidate for Kitui governor seat in August polls, claimed he won by more than 10, 000 votes but was rigged out in favour of Governor Malombe. He stopped short of accusing the party leader of influencing the outcome.
He said from the word go agents of the Governor and hired goons waylaid, intimidated and threatened election officials forcing them to announce Malombe as the winner.
“If results from three key constituencies were missing during the final announcement from my strongholds, how come Malombe was announced as the winner?” He posed.
He said he won with 81, 234 votes against the incumbent’s 70, 899 votes.
