Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen will defend his seat with a Jubilee ticket in the August 8 polls.
The Senator won the ticket with over 83,000 votes, while his opponent John Kangogo came a distant second with over 12,000 votes.
“I would like to thank the people who believed in me, my family, Marakwet residents, my party, friends and even competitors who gave a good fight,” Murkomen said on Tuesday.
“We now continue to work towards making our county a better place,” he added.
The Senator said he will now focus on the August election and on serving Jubilee party.
