The Jubilee Party is scheduled to start issuing certificates to winners of the nomination tomorrow. The party has also formed a tribunal to start listening to disputes that began operations on Tuesday.
First to collect their certificates from the party headquarters will be aspirants who were unopposed but all Members of County Assembly (MCA) winners will collect their certificate from their County headquarters.
Other members have been given three days as from the day of the announcement of respective results to lodge any dispute to the tribunal before they are issued with certificates as from Saturday 29th April 2017.
“The counties which voted on Monday will receive their certificates on Saturday this week while those who voted on Tuesday will receive their certificate on Monday 1st May and the rest will receive their certificates on Tuesday 2nd May,” said Jubilee Party, National Elections Board Chairman, and Andrew Musangi.
The announcement was made after several winners such as Anne Waiguru, who won the Kirinyaga gubernatorial ticket visited the headquarters to collect their certificates.“We are very careful when it comes to issuance of the certificates because this is a very crucial document and we would wish to tell all winners to bear with us and follow the timeline given,” he added.
He urged all those who have disputes to fill a dispute form at the headquarters and for those who come from far to do so online before proceeding to the headquarters and if disputes are not lodged after three days from the day the results were announced they will not accept the disputes.
“We have formed a tribunal appeal team which comprises of nine members who will sit in three benches to hear and determine complaints,” said Musangi.
However some of the members who flocked the headquarters such as Gatundu North Member of Parliament Francis Kigo Njenga to record their dispute argued the board to order for recount of ballot papers and reconciliation of the papers with the register in the most affected areas to ensure that transparency is achieved.
