The Labour Party of Kenya (LPK) leader Ababu Namwamba has disclosed that plans are under foot to unite all aspirants in Busia behind Funyula MP Paul Otuoma to face the incumbent Sospeter Ojaamong’ on August 8.
The Budalang’i MP’s disclosure came on the day that the Registrar of Political Parties Lucy Ndung’u cleared Otuoma to contest for the Busia governorship an independent candidate.
Namwamba revealed that the race for the Busia gubernatorial seat will be a two horses pitting Ojaamong against Otuoma, who would have the support of the other four aspirants.
Namwamba said that talks were ongoing to ensure that the other aspirants stepped down for Otuoma, who has come out as the most formidable aspirant, in order to beat Ojaamong.
Namwamba said he has been holding talks with Humphrey Nakitare (ANC), Engineer Dan Barasa (Jubilee) and Michael Oloo (Ford Kenya).

But Namwamba while throwing his support for Otuoma insisted that his Labour party will support president Uhuru Kenyatta during the August general elections to ensure that he the seat for a second term.
He told Funyula residents to vote for president Kenyatta during the August general elections so that they can benefit more when he will launch the construction of the international Mulwanda bridge on Kenya Uganda border.
“We are going to ensure that Ojaamong must fall even if he will be given 100 nomination certificates by ODM,” said Namwamba.
Addressing a public rally at Funyula market, Namwamba said that those behind the move are seven politicians including Busia Senator Amos Wako.
“We are making plans to ensure that we front one candidate who will face Governor Ojaamong during the August general,” said Namwamba.
However when contacted for comment Wako and Engineer Barasa dismissed the allegations including.
