The assistant chief of Kiamugumo in Gichugu, Kirinyaga County was stabbed to death last in a dometsic row.
Dennis Magu, 36, was fatally stabbed in the back between 9:30pm and 10pm.
Confirming the incident, Gichugu sub-county DCI boss Millicent Ochuka said the administrator spouse, Jedida Wanja, 35, used a kitchen knife to kill him over an undisclosed family feud.
“The suspect said the incident happened after her husband asked for airtime but I cannot believe she can kill him over airtime,” Ochuka said.
According to Kirinyaga nominated MCA, Rose Wanjiru, who is also Magu’s mother the incident occurred after they had said their night prayers together.
“We had just prayed with the family as we were going to sleep but I was shocked to be called by my son’s wife after ten minutes telling me she had killed her husband by ‘mistake’ with a kitchen knife,’ she said.
“I rushed to his house, which is located a few metres from mine. I found him writhing in pain on the floor as blood gushed out of his back.”
A taxi took Magu to a private hospital at Githure trading centre, however, he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Magu’s body was taken to Kibugi Mortuary in Kutus.
The suspect was thereafter arrested and handed over to Kianyaga Police Station.
Two knives suspected to have been used in the fatal stabbing were recovered from the scene and a towel used to wipe blood stains from the floor.
