A Nairobi court yesterday issued a warrant of arrest against a city lawyer for failing to appear in court to answer to the charges of stealing Sh 19 million belonging to her client in the conveyance involving a parcel of land.
Chief magistrate Francis Andayi issued the arrest order against lawyer Caroline Wairimu Kimemia alias Caroline Wairimu Wanjithia following application by the prosecution that she was not present in court as she was required to plead to the theft by agent charges against her.
The prosecution alleges that on January 14,2014 at C.W.Wanjithia and Company Advocates in Nairobi county, the accused being an agent to M/s Cecil Mungai Hermant Kumar Karia and Minax Karia in the conveyance involving land referrence No.5884/13 Crossroad Estate, Nairobi fraudulently and without claim of right, she stole Sh 19 million the property of her client which came into her possession on account of the complainant.
The second against her states that on August 14,2013 at unknown place she made a document namely sale agreement for purchase of parcel of land No 5884/13 by introducing in the figure of Sh 45 million without authority purporting it to be agreed purchase price of Sh 59 million. The magistrate directed the case to be mention on February 7, for further direction.
