Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga, who has received major support from President Uhuru Kenyatta’s protégé in the Mount Kenya region, is currently galvanising his political network in Nyeri County.
Raila will today begin a tour of Nyeri County where he will hold rallies in within Nyeri county before climaxing it with a major rally in Nyeri Town.
He will be hosted by the Party of National Unity and will hold a series a special interest caucuses in the region.
Laikipia Governor, Ndiritu Muriithi, also PNU leader, was the first governor to host Raila in Nanyuki for three days in August.
He is expected to meet youth, professional and business people from Mt Kenya.
The events are seen as efforts by Raila to court the vote-rich region. The tour of Nyeri will be the fifth circuit the ODM leader is making in the region.
Meanwhile, Deputy President William will be in Nakuru today to begin his tour with a meeting at the Mwisho Wa Lami in Njoro Sub County.
He will then proceed to Mau Narok, Mauche, Kihingo, Egerton and Njoro Posta, all in Njoro sub-county for similar meetings.
Ruto will then proceed to Molo and Kuresoi North sub-counties with stop overs in Elburgon, Molo Town, Muchorwe and Seguton respectively.
The seemingly never-ending campaign for the presidential elections, which are due to take place on 9 August 2022, has crystalised around crafting a winning formula.
