ODM aspirants in Luo Nyanza are in the last minute campaigns in bid to galvanize their support ahead of the party nominations which kicks off on Monday.
The hopefuls including governors, senators, MPs and women reps are in final campaign gears as they are crisscrossing their areas seeking for support in readiness for the most crucial exercise.
In Homa bay and Migori counties the aspirants now have a few days to woo for votes ahead of the orange party primaries slated for early next week.
Earlier, nominations for the two counties were scheduled for today (Friday) but the party moved it to Monday.
It means the exercise will now be conducted in Kisumu, Siaya, Homa bay and Migori counties on the same day.
Luo Nyanza is considered the ODM stronghold and the aspirants are leaving nothing to chance during campaigns as they prepare to battle it out in the party primaries.
A tough contest is predicted in the governorship race hence the incumbents are spending every available time and resources hunting for votes to stand chances of clinching the party ticket.
Homa bay governor Cyprian Awiti in his campaign trails met with teachers from his Rachuonyo home turf and in Ndhiwa constituency on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.
During the meetings, Awiti pleaded with the teachers to support his re-election bid starting with the eminent ODM primaries.
The governor expressed confidence that based on his development record he will trounce his rivals in the nominations process.
