Kabete parliamentary aspirant who went missing on Friday before being found alive on Sunday has rubbished claims that his mysterious disappearance was stage managed.
Charles Gitau alias Fresh today told the press at Kingeero police station where he had gone to record a statement that he went through hell during the abduction a thing he said made to almost regret joining politics.
He however said that he could not narrate his ordeal in the hands of his abductors saying that the police had prevailed upon him not to divulge any information lest the same jeopardize investigations on the matter.
He said that it was ironical for him to ‘kidnap myself and yet and am the front runner in the race’ adding that he had called upon the investigators to quicken their investigations in order for the truth to be known.
‘I do not want to talk about the matter because it is under investigations and i have been advised not to divulge what i have recorded but i want to prevail upon the police to do their work first so that the truth can be known’, he said amid cheers from his placards waving supporters who had gathered at the police stations in their hundreds.
The aspirant said that he was shaken by the abduction but was quick to add that he would not be cowed by his political rivals who he said had already sensed defeat, noting that it would be the voters to determine who their MP will be.
Kabete OCPD Joseph Onyaga said that his officers had launched investigations into the matter and urged locals to stop speculating adding that investigators would take both the political and criminal angle.
