Detectives attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have launched a manhunt for two suspects in a robbery with violence in Muguga, Kiambu county.
The two armed robbers escaped after their accomplice Evans Atuya, 35, was stabbed to death by their intended victim Godwin Wanyama.
According to DCI, the three had staged a robbery in Wanyama’s house in Mugunga, Kabete sub-county yesterday at around 2 am, wielding a knife.
“A scuffle immediately ensued as the thugs tried to subdue their victim but Wanyama went straight for Atuya’s hand and got hold of the knife and he furiously went for the suspect’s neck and stabbed him as his accomplices took flight,” stated DCI.
“The suspect only managed a few steps from Wanyama’s house, before he fell down and succumbed to the injuries caused by his own weapon.”
Officers from Muguga police station visited the scene to confirm the incident and collected evidence for further investigations.
However, detectives have advised victims of such attacks from armed thugs to avoid a confrontation that may lead to them losing their lives where possible.
