Three Members of the Meru County Assembly were whisked to safety by police after irate locals bayed for their blood.
The trio, who were among 10 others, were ejected today from County Assembly chambers where Meru Governor Peter Munya was making state of the County address.
The MCAs faced the wrath of the locals after they unexpectedly interfered with part of the proceedings making noise and accusing the County chief of reading a misleading developments documents.
Nominated MCAs Jennifer Murogocho Dorosine kagwiria and Daniel Kiogora Mca Abuthuguchi East ,were hastily taken to safety by police after they were accused of leading a section of their counterpart to boo the County boss bring the proceedings into a standstill.
The three who were among the 10 others who are pushed out, accused Munya of being corrupt and not delivering to the Meru County residents and alleging all the developments allocation presented were untrue and vague.
Disrupting the state of Meru county proceedings the MCAs who expressed discontent blew the whistle amid making continuous noise and chanting anti-Munya slogans were forced out by the sergeant at arm.
Munya however lauded the developments track recorded so far saying majority are in support of the initiative noting those showed discounted are allied to his opponents Senator Kiraitu Murungi.
Meanwhile, Senator Kiraitu Murungi who is eyeing the Meru governors Seat has dismissed the Infotrack survey that has ranked Munya top as the most favorite candidate by the residents.
Senator Kiraitu speaking to the press yesterday said the polls conducted by the private institution are malicious and manipulated to place Munya ahead of him ahead of the August 8th general elections.
“The polls are very untrue and malicious that does not show the true picture on the ground because I know Meru people are tired of Munya’s leadership and they want an alternative leadership,” Said Kiraitu.
Munya is ranked at 41.1 percent against Kiraitu 29.9% the polls published by a local daily on Thursday.
