Nakuru nominated MCA Margaret Wanjiku has threatened to move to court to have Speaker Susan Kihika barred from participating in the August polls citing abuse of office claims.
Miss Wanjiku says that Speaker Kihika, who is seen as a front-runner in senate race, should be blocked from vying for any elective seat following last week’s ruling declared the Sh376 million Car Loan and Mortgage Scheme null and void.
The High court had ruled that the process of disbursement of the car loans and mortgages to the MCAs by Family Bank was riddled with irregularities and therefore unconstitutional.
In the scheme, 74 Nakuru MCAs received Sh2 million car loan and a Sh3 million mortgage each.
The MCA accused the speaker of abuse of office, mismanagement and embezzlement of funds. She also accuses the Speaker of failing to discharge her duties impartially.
Speaking to The Informer on phone Ms Wanjiru vowed to petition the court to have the speaker blocked from vying saying she is not fit to hold any public office if elected.
“The speaker is not fit to hold any public office, she violated the constitution in issuing MCAs with car loans and mortgages, i will move to court to have her blocked from vying,” She said.
Margaret Wanjiku has questioned the conduct and integrity of assembly speaker Susan Kihika saying she has frustrated implementation of many crucial bills at the assembly in Nakuru
