A High Court advocate was today charged with stealing over Sh 7.7 million from his client.
Lawyer Daniel Bosire who appeared before Milimani chief magistrate Francis Andayi denied the charge of theft by agent.
The prosecution alleges that on diverse dates between October 19,2015 and December 8,2015 the accused being an agent of Caren Bochere Angima stole Sh7,730,000 which had been received by him on account of one Peter Gachigi Njau.
Bosire asked the court to grant him reasonable bail terms pending the case of the case, saying he did not know why he was arraign in court since he was acting in the matter as an advocate.
The magistrate ordered him to be released on bond of Sh 1 million or cash bail of Sh 200,000 pending mention of the case on April 27.
In same court a man was charged with personating an advocate of High Court by acting for a client.
Ronald Omondi Oimbo is accused of being unqualified person as advocate of High Court of Kenya willfully practised as advocate by representing a firm known as Kenhar Motor Services.
He was released on a cash bail of Sh 150,000.
