A day after hooligans allegedly allied to Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria attacked former area MP Moses Mwihia, a man was today charged before a Gatundu court with malicious damage and stealing from the latter.
John Mwaura appeared before Gatundu Senior Resident Magistrate E. Nyongesa amd denied that on 11th April 2017 at Gatundu Deputy County Commissioners office, with others not before court he stole one pair of shoes worth Sh 8,000 from Moses Ng’ang’a Mwihia and destroyed a shirt worth Sh 5,000 from the complainant.
The accused did not plead to the charges and prosecution counsel Kerogo Marwa asked that he be held at Gatundu police station as more serious charges are likely to be preferred against him.
The Magistrate ruled that the case be mentioned on April 18th.
Mwihia who had gone to present a petition to area DCC Stephen Kihara over alleged misuse of CDF funds was confronted by a group of youths chanting pro-Kuria slogans who beat him up and also attacked a Nation Media journalist Mary Wambui.
On Tuesday , a group of youths allied to Kuria attacked and a Nation Media journalist .
The gang of about 30 hooligans chanting pro-Kuria slogans had earlier roughed up former area MP Moses Mwihia who was about to present a petition on alleged misuse of CG – CDF money to are deputy county commissioner Stephen Kihara.
