The President of the Republic of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid is in the country for a three-day official visit.
She arrived in the morning and was received at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by the Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amb. Raychelle Omamo, and her Defense counterpart Dr. Monica Juma.
She is expected to hold high-level bilateral consultations with President Uhuru Kenyatta in the course of the day at State House, Nairobi.
According to a statement by State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena, the historic visit by Kaljulaid will be the first official visit by an Estonian Head of State to an African country.
“More details of the Estonian leader’s visit, including a detailed itinerary, will be shared progressively,” read the statement.
Kaljulaid was also scheduled for meetings with the CEO of Safaricom, Bolt and the European Union delegation.
