Police in Mlolongo are on the spot after it emerged that they were aiding a woman charged with fraud from arrest following a warrant issued by a Kiambu .
Keziah Wangui is being sought after failing to take a plea over her involvement in conning a Kiambu businessman Sh2million claiming that she was in a position to assist him win a tender to supply materials in the construction of the SGR.
Last week drama unfolded at Kiambu police station after a team of senior police officers from Athi River led by Area OCPD and the DCIO came to Kiambu Criminal office demanding why summons were being issued to the woman whom they had brought along from her home.
A source told People Daily that issue almost degenerated to a serious confrontation at the Kiambu County Police headquarters only for the matter to be settled after the Athi River team promised to present the suspect to court and placing a cashbail of 20,000.
However, Wangui was not prestented before court last Friday as promised prompting the Kiambu police to question the seceirity of their colleagues.
Last month a Kiambu court ordered the arrest of Wangui who was charged with fraud after allegedly forging documents purporting that she had won a tender from the ongoing multibillion SGR project to lure her target.
Principal Magistrate Stella Atambo issued a warrant of arrest against Wangui after she refused to appear in court to answer to the charges for the fourth time under that the magistrate said were “unconvincing grounds”.
Wangui been charged that on November 15, 2016 in Kiambu Town, with intent to defraud, she obtained Sh2 million from John Macharia by falsely pretending that she had won a tender from the standard gauge railway project to supply timber valued at Sh7.4 million.
