Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua made headlines yesterday when he announced his separation with his wife Lilian Nga’ng’a.
Ng’ang’a announced the end of their marriage that saw Mutua divorce his first wife Dr Josphine Thitu Maundu in 2014.
“Winds of change blew my way and two months ago I decided to end my long-term relationship with Dr. Alfred Mutua,” she wrote on her instagram page.
“With this I put down the Machakos First Lady cap and what an honour it has been to be of service.”
During Mutua and Josephine’s divorce process, the couple were embroiled in a bitter and ugly tussle over their three children and matrimonial home, Grevilla park apartment at Westlands.
Josephine who is a pharmacist accused Mutua of brutality and publicly humiliating her, allegations Mutua dismissed as lies.
Mutua rushed to court seeking division of the property acquired during his 15-year marriage to Josephine, but Justice William Musyoka not only dismissed the case but also ruled that the Governor will have to pay for the cost of the suit.
“A court cannot try the issues raised in this case without having to determine the same points of law that were conclusively settled by the court in HCJSC No 45 of 2014. Consequently, I shall uphold the objection and strike out the suit herein with costs to the defendant,” Justice Musyoka ruled.
He lost an expansive property in Machakos, Kitui, and Makueni including prime plots in Mavoko town, Kamulu, plus a palatial home believed to be within Westlands in Nairobi.
Josephine also told the court she was holding these properties in Trust for the three children she sired with the governor during their marriage.
She later flew to Australia with their three children.
The two had tied the knot in July 1, 2000 at Nairobi Baptist Church Ngong Road and were blessed with three kids, two gals and a boy.
