Court orders suspected terrorists be detained for 15 days

Two men suspected to be hacking key vital installations to propagate terrorism related activities have been detained for 15 days for police to conclude investigations.

Ronald Nsale, a Ugandan and Morgan Kamande, a Kenyan were arrested on Thursday outside Central Police station by the Anti-terrorist Police Unit.

The court heard that Nsale has been coming in and out of the country and he came to the country on the 25th of last month and that his travel History report shows that his immigration status has not been ascertained.

Prosecution Counsel Duncan Ondimu told the court that ATPU is in the presence of contacting the Ugandan Immigration Department over the issue.

The court heard that ATPU has been carrying out investigations in relations to several instances of illegal access to key vital installation within Country.

According to an affidavit by the investigating officer Leonard Bwire , ATPU has been carrying out investigations in relation to the presence of ISIS/ISIL Cyber Caliphate presence in the Country and whether the hacking of computer system of Key installation, agencies and telecommunication services providers is linked to the presence of ISIL.
