Deputy President William Ruto and Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga have been in constant battles, currently attacking each other over allegations of corruption in government.
Ruto lashed out at Raila over his declaration that he will jail corrupt people if elected.
He said Raila’s tenure in government was characterised by corruption and theft of money meant for the youth.
“They are very strange people because when they are in government, they were stealing from the youth and now that they are in opposition they have stolen through Covid billionaires,” he said.
Speaking at a church service at the Presbyterian Church of East Africa in Umoja, Nairobi, Ruto accused Raila of his involvement in Kenya Medical Supply Authority(KEMSA) scandal.
The DP asked Raila to apologise to Kenyans for disrupting the Big Four Agenda after President Uhuru Kenyatta invited them into government.
“You need to apologise to us and you need to be ashamed of yourselves,” Ruto said.
Ruto also added that it was only in Kenya where the opposition could purport to run government, further stating that he is in no way ashamed of making donations in church and helping the lowly on society.
On Saturday, Raila charged that some individuals who were busy donating million of shillings to churches belong to Shimo la Tewa Prison.
Raila said that the money being donated by the DP belongs to the kenyans and it was acquired through fraud.
He said Kenyans are suffering as a results of leaders stealing public funds and using the ill-gotten wealth to popularise themselves.
“People are struggling to get food and other basic needs yet these are rights… they are suffering because a few people have taken their money and are moving to every corner of the country pretending to help them,” he said.
Although Raila hasn’t announced that he’ll run for the presidencial seat next year, the duo squabble is a clear indication that they are battling for the State House.
