Kenya Air Force Commander Maj Gen F O Ogolla has mourned the eleven military officers who died in a plane crash in Kajiado County.
The fatal accident occurred on Thursday morning, last week.
In the requiem mass booklet programme produced by the Kenya Air Force- Moi Airbase, eulogized the departed eleven as hardworking and obedient officers.
“The Service Members worked at Kenya Air Force until they met their death. They were hard working and dedicated Service Members which earned them respect by their Seniors, Peers and Juniors. They were devoted, obedient and promising, cheerful and pleasant to work with. The cruel hand of death has robbed us dedicated, loyal and hardworking Service Members who had a bright future in the Kenya Air Force,” he eulogized.
They listed the names of the eleven deceased officers alongside their ranks and the year they joined the service.
They include; WO2 Joshua Obare Odera who was enlisted into the KDF – KAF on 04 May 1990. He was posted to TAEW, WO2 Tarcisio Wandera Namboka who was enlisted into the KDF – KAF on 18 July 1994, Ssgt Noah Wanyonyi Munialo who was enlisted into the Kenya KDF – KAF on 18 July 1994, Ssgt Bob Kipkemoi Aruasa who was enlisted into the KDF – KAF on 03 Aug 02 and Ssgt Anthony Simon Kamuti who was enlisted into the KDF – KAF on 23 Sep 03.
Additionally; Ssgt Irene Wanjiku Githinji who was enlisted into the KDF – KAF on 01 Sep 08, Sgt Josphat Muriuki Maingi who was enlisted into KDF – KAF on 26 Feb 07, Sgt Steve Ombuka Angwenyi who was enlisted into KDF – KAF on 29 Oct 07, Sgt Stephen Omarian Omale who was enlisted into KDF – KAF on 29 Oct 07, Cpl Bonface Ogati Mocheche who was enlisted into the KDF – KAF on 25 Oct 10 and Spte Thomas Shekeine was enlisted into the Kenya Defence Forces – Kenya Air
Force on 07 Dec 14.
A requiem has been held at the Moi Airbase gymnasium today.
A total of 23 passengers boarded the plane and 12 other officers, who are said to have jumped from the plane when it was almost crashing, sustained injuries and were admitted to Kenya Defense Forces Memorial Hospital where they are undergoing treatment.
