ODM nominated senator Elizabeth Ongoro is tomorrow expected to make a major announcement on her political future days after the Orange Party blocked her from Ruaraka parliamentary race where she had expressed interest.
Tomorrow at her Kenyatta International Convention Center (KICC) offices, the Senator who is also ODM Deputy Secretary General is expected to let the cat out of the bag concerning her political future in regards to the August 8 elections. Sources said the senator is expected to decamp from ODM.
Sources close to the Senator were however economical with information regarding the Senator’s tomorrow’s announcement even though there were strong speculations yesterday that she will unveil her political vehicle during today’s press conference.
‘Senator Elizabeth Ongoro will have a major press conference tomorrow April 5 (today) on her political future,’ that was all from her handlers.
There were also reports that the lawmaker is contemplating ditching the ODM party over the decision of the party’s top organ to bar her from Ruaraka case following spate of violence witnessed in the constituency last month and which led to two deaths as her supporters clashed with those of the incumbent MP Tom Kajwang’.
The party’s Central Management Committee (CMC) chaired by the Party Leader Raila Odinga last week on Thursday offered her an option to vie for Nairobi County Women Representative position after her name was struck off from list of aspirants for Ruaraka Parliamentary seat.
