Two Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) MPs today claimed that the chaos witnessed in Migori on Monday is due to disorganization by party leadership led by Mombasa governor Hassan Joho.
The MPs who condemned the chaos said it was wrong for the Joho team which also comprised of Senators James Orengo (Siaya) and Anyang Nyongo (Kisumu) and Suna East MP Junet Mohammed to try and campaign in Obado’s areas without involving him.
They claimed that the chaos would have been avoided if the said leaders would have recognized as well as involved the local leaders including the governor Okoth Obado.
Deputy Minority leader and Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo (Gem) and Kitutu Masaba and ODM Treasury Timothy Bosire argued that the scenes witnessed would not have been witnessed had Joho avoided going to Migori.
The two further claimed that what happened also gave the government an opportunity to deal with Joho.
Midiwo and Bosire who spoke at Parliament Buildings concurred that it was also wrong for police to use live bullets to disperse the rowdy crowd, especially taking into account the frosty relationship between Joho and the government.
Further the two also took issue with sentiments by Prof Nyongo and Mohammed endorsing former Rongo MP Ochilo Ayako for the gubernatorial seat.
