Residents of Il Ngwesi Location who have moved from their villages and convened at Borana Gate in Laikipia North following a wave of insecurity have turned to prayers as they wait for the government to provide security.
The residents mostly women and children held an interdenominational prayers at their new camping site as they try to come into terms with the predicaments that have left them homeless.
According to pastor John Karamushu of Dominion Chapel ministry it has come for a time to seek God’s intervention after failing to get help from all other quarters.
Karamushu said that for the first time in history of the area, residents of Sang’a, Lokusero, Nandung’uru and entire Il Ngwesi Location have been forced to move from their homes by foreigners whose aim is to push them out of the region.
He noted that killing of innocent children and perennial shooting by the invaders is a clear message that they want to instill fear among locals so that they can free and leave the region for them to occupy.
Mary Kisio a mother of eight from Nandung’uru village said that the invaders drove them out of the village and they could not carry anything.
Kisio said that she was a farmer and had harvested beans but the invaders destroyed them and grazed their animals on her farm.
