Her Excellency President Samia Suluhu Hassan of the United Republic of Tanzania has today morning arrived in Nairobi for a two-day State Visit to Kenya.
She was received by the Miniistry of Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Raychelle Omamo and the Ministry of Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed.
Suluhu is expected to hold bilateral talks with President Uhuru Kenyatta aimed at strengthening the cordial relations between Kenya and Tanzania.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kenya is the biggest investor in Tanzania whose exports to Kenya have been rising in the last ten days.
“The State visit comes at a time when Kenya and Tanzania are working closely to deepen ties in the area of trade and people-to-people relations including the private sector, arts, culture, wildlife matters, tourism and multilateral levels,” read the statement.
At the State House, Samia is to inspect a guard of honour and receive a 21 gun salute before proceeding for bilateral meetings then later she will be hosted for an official State dinner.
President Suluhu is expected to address a joint sitting of Parliament tomorrow but is also scheduled to hold consultations at a business forum for Tanzanian and Kenyan business community and will also address a gathering of executive women in business.
Suluhu’s visit comes on the back of an official invite from President Uhuru Kenyatta delivered by Sports CS Amina Mohamed on April 10, 2021 in Tanzania.
This is her second foreign trip after she met President Yoweri Museveni in Kampala last month where they launched a Sh382 billion project, East African Crude Oil Pipeline.
