Kandara Member Parliament Alice Wahome appeared in Murang’a court on Wednesday after a warrant of arrest was issued against her last week.
Wahome who has been charged with obstructing police officers in their line of duty mid last year did not however take plea as she requested for seven more days to prepare an affidavit.
The Mp who appeared before principal magistrate Anthony Mwicigi also claimed that she was not aware of any allegations being leveled against her or any warrant of arrest which had been issued to have her arrested.
She said she only leant of the warrant in the morning when she got a call from Kabato OCS who told her to report to his office by noon but refused to disclose why he wanted her.
“It is only after I insisted when he told me that there is a warrant of arrest and I was supposed to appear in court” she added.
She said she has been in good terms with all the officers in her area and it was surprising that they filed a case againist her.
“I demand that the complainants who have filed a case against me to swear an affidavit and bring them to the court” she said.
The Mp also said that the case is being propagated by her political opponents who want to ruin her career.
