Jubilee party electioneering board in Murang’a officials were peacefully elected yesterday amidst presence of heavy security personnel that was deployed following last Saturday’s skirmishes during the aborted elections.
All the aspirants be it MCAs, MPs, Governors and Senators were forced to leave their vehicles and security personnel outside the Murang’a Teacher’s Training College gate, leaving the aspirants walk towards the hall alone.
The JP National Election Board vice chair Vesca Kandago called on the aspirants to gather as per their constituencies they come from so as to select a representative.
All the seven constituencies gathered into groups of seven but for Kandara constituency, they could not get into consensus where the leaders argued on the mode of election to be used to come out with a representative.
Some like area MP Alice Wahome were of the Mlolongo mode of election where his opponent Maina Kamau opted for a secret ballot.
It took one hour for Kandara to come up with a name of their representative.
