Drama unfolded in a Nairobi court yesterday when a self proclaimed millionaire businessman Paul Kobia attempted to attack a magistrate.
Kobia was incensed with the move by the authorities to drag him from his hospital bed to the courts to plead to the charges of kidnapping a Congolese businessman.
The controversial businessman threw tantrums, wailed and attempted to attack Milimani Chief magistrate Francis Andayi but he was immediately blocked by the court orderlies.
“Listen to me your honour, this court is unfair to me. Why have I been taken out of a hospital bed to attend court?” posed Kobia in the midst of crying and struggling with the court orderlists
Kobia presented himself to court accompanied by his lawyer Kiraithe Wandungi to answer charges of abducting businessman Blanchard Londole and assaulted him.
However, when Kobia’s name was called by court clerk he stood up shouting while heading towards the magistrate’s seat. He was led to the accused dock where he sat down to hear what he was being asked to do by the magistrate.
