Eleven communities in Trans Nzoia have today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) sharing political positions in the next government under the Jubilee Party.
The communities are Luhya, Kikuyu, Kalenjin, Sabaot, Teso, Abagusii, Turkana, Luo, Bukusu, Somali and the Indians. In the MOU, the leadership positions will be shared among the communities to minimise dominance.
The positions identified are the Governor, Deputy Governor, Senatorial, Women Representative, Parliamentary seats and those at the county government.
According to the agreement penned by 66 representatives ,the Bukusu community will take the governor’s seat as the deputy governor position will go to the Kalenjin and Senatorial left for the Sabaot. The slot of women representative will go to the Kikuyu community.
The communities also agreed that Saboti and Kwanza constituencies will be left for the Luhya, Cherangany for Kalenjins, Endebess for the Sabaot.
