An 11-year old boy has been admitted at the Naivasha County Referral Hospital in critical condition after his father slashed him with a panga.
The boy, who was admitted to the hospital last night, is nursing serious head injuries sustained from the attack following a domestic dispute involving her mother and the suspect.
According to Nominated MCA Esther Njeri, the minor was attacked after he bravely prevented his father from hitting her mother with the panga.
Njeri said trouble started after the man came home drunk and engaged his wife in a heated argument that turned nasty and decided to hit her with the crude weapon.
She added that the son who was sleeping with his three other siblings heard the noise and woke up to check what was going on.
She said the boy survived by sheer luck and was rushed to hospital immediately after neighbours were alerted where the medics stopped the bleeding.
Njeri who is a child rights activist said the man ran away soon after the incident adding that efforts to nab him were futile.
