Lands Cabinet Secretary Jacob Kimenyi has urged residents of Meru county and Kenyans at large to collect their title deeds so as to have a guarantee of ownership.
Speaking at Meru Slopes Hotel in Meru county, the CS has stated that over 40% percent of Meru county residents have not collected their title deeds and the same applies to Kenyan schools and Kenyan citizens at large where 83% percent of the schools do not have tittle deeds and over 70% of Kenyans do not have tittle deeds either.
He further added that 55% percent of the schools all around Kenya are not fenced which means the schools could be invaded by bandits and people of ill intentions or drugs dealers trying to sell drugs to students and pupils.
He also stated that they are thinking of starting a digital platform in the ministry of Lands where citizens will be checking their land ownership online instead of queing in the offices.
