An Anti-drug crusader in Malindi has gone into hiding fearing for his life.
Mohamed Famau, the chairman of Maarufu Anti-Drug Project, says unknown people threatened to kill him and he has reported the matter at the Malindi police station.
The activist said the threatening messages were sent to him through his Facebook account and mobile phone operated by a person by the name Moreno Danilo.
The message claims that Famau is a police informer who has been reporting their activities to the authorities leading to arrest of radicalized youths within Malindi.
“I received the message five days ago but despite reporting the matter to the police, no one has been arrested. I am asking the government to provide me with security,” he said.
The activist was also threatened with death a few years ago over his fight against drug.
