Suspected Al-Shabaab militants have attacked and destroyed a communication mast in Elele area, Mandera County.
The extremist group used bombs to bring down the only mast in the area hence affecting communication.
North astern regional police boss Rono Bunei said no injuries had been reported as well.
“No one was injured in the dawn attack adding that the attackers escaped soon after their assault,” said Rono Bunei.
The attack comes four days after newly built police offices and houses were destroyed in an al-Shabaab explosion at Borehole 11 area of Mandera South constituency, Mandera County.
The town has been under attack by criminal elements destroying property and stalling development.
There are fears of more such attacks after dozens of the militants crossed from Somalia to Kenya in Garissa border.
The border region has borne the brunt of repeated attacks from the militants who are at times aided by locals.
